Angus McEwan

Angus has been playing the flute for 30 years and spent 15 years teaching and playing professionally. He has been working for Flute Fidelity for 10 years and has been a flute technician full time for the last 8 years.

He spent 2 years living in the United States where he studied and worked with some of the best flutemakers and technicians in the world.

Since returning from the United States, Angus has done repair work for most of the major symphony orchestras in Australia, including the Sydney, Adelaide, West Australian and Queensland Symphony orchestras, as well as the Auckland and New Zealand Symphony orchestras and the Malaysian and Hong Kong Symphony orchestras.

He has also done work for a number of major visiting artists including Marianne Gedigian, Michael Cox, Emily Beynon and Paul Edmund-Davies.

Angus is an authorised Straubinger technician.

Joseph Derrick

Joseph came to work for Billy Hyde's in June 2007 after studying instrument repair for 1 year in America. He completed his B.Mus in 2004 majoring in Performance Jazz.

Although primarily a trumpet player he can get around most woodwind instruments including clarinet, saxophone, oboe, and even a bit of bassoon. He repairs all of these plus all the brass instruments that come in to the store.

Victoria Riki-Heke

Victoria Rika-Heke has been repairing flutes and clarinets for 8 years. After completing an Advanced Diploma of Flute Performance in 2001 Victoria joined the team at Flute Fidelity as a full time flute and clarinet technician, later branching into saxophone repairs learning from Andrew Berrington.

Victoria is a qualified Yamaha, Buffet and Selmer repairer and has repaired instruments for the Malaysian Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Sydney Opera Orchestra.
